It was a very special time to be doing karma yoga – a small group of us, and we did more sitting practice than usual.

These were the tasks we completed.  Colin fitted a splash back at the back of the cooker, and has emailed the Health and Safety department to say that we have now fulfilled all their requirements.  Chopping boards were scrubbed.  Mugs were soaked in soda and kitchen cupboards cleaned. Spices were checked.

Red thoroughly cleaned the caravan, including the mattresses, pillows and cushions. Mirjana supervised the gardening and cut back all the climbing plants at the front of the house.  A new toaster was bought.  Rowan and Phil painted the shrine room in the house.

These tasks are outstanding.

Lighting in the dining room is very dim.   Robin had some ideas about improving this.  The end wall of the dining room is a mess and the health and safety inspector commented on this. I went to Ikea and got a plan and quote for fitting kitchen units along that wall, with a broom cupboard and space for storing retreatants’ private food supplies and some of the bulk foods that are at present kept in old zinc trunks on the floor of the boot room.  The dresser would move back to the wall adjacent to the outside door.

There are also plans to build bookshelves in the Shrine room and entirely re-design the boot/store room space.  Also to put up a hanging clothes rack in the cabins’ bathroom.

The harvest was ready, set off by the beautiful Autumn light at Kunselling:
